PhD in Applied Economics from the Center for Regional Development and Planning at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CEDEPLAR/UFMG), with experience at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC/UN) and the Centre of Latin American Studies (CLAS) at the University of Cambridge, UK. Graduated in Economic Sciences from UFMG. Master’s degree in Industrial Economics and Economic Development from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Experience in economics with an emphasis on macroeconomics, development, economic growth, and regional economics. He works mainly on the following topics: Structural Change (Industry and Services), Economic Policy, Regional Planning, Brazilian and Latin American Economics.
